BEACH roses
Found along the seacoast, these are often called
"Hip" rose bushes
Bees love them!
FROZEN
All 3 of these photos were taken the same day in Maine a few weeks ago, at the Nubble Lighthouse. We've have some very bitter cold weather this year. York, Maine
FEATHERS
I just took these photos at Odiorne Point State Park, in Rye, New Hampshire. This Red-tailed hawk was not far from me, I did not have to get out of my car to take these pictures, but I did use a good zoom lens.
Preening its feathers
FAST
A fox running through my yard, they run very FAST!  And, that makes it hard to get a good clear and crisp picture.

  1. I probably like the fox best, they have a hard time keeping their species alive. Our foxes here in Southeast Texas are much smaller and not such a pretty color as yours. Our beagle dog had rounded one up once, Mrs. Jim saw then come racing through the houses and out onto the golf course. She yelled at the dog to stop and it did. That is the test for a good rabbit hunting dog, "will it stop on command?"
Your lighthouse phot is classic. I had not known what a hip rose was, now I've seen pictures. But I still don't know why they are called "hip roses".
