Black and white photo - My Dad on a Bike
This was taken when he was a teenager, before he was 18 and went off to war.A picture of a butterfly, that I took a while ago.
I may have posted it before.

Really great "B" Word pictures, Dawn. The Kittery harbor picture is sooo pretty, all the little dinkies waiting to go out to the bigger boats anchored away. I had wanted to plant some milkweeds for the Monarchs when they stop here in late winter on their way up to you guys but between our terrible freeze and the COVID still I got all off kilter.
ReplyDeleteNice picture of your dad at 18, before he went off to war. Mrs. Jim's brother died before she was born, he had gone off to war and was a P38 pilot, so young that his parents had to sign for him. His plane was shot down by Germans over Italy in December 1943 and he was killed then. The Germans did bury him in a churchyard and then took off with his plane wreckage.
..
...and I'm sure that the BLACK and white of your Dad us a favorite. BOATS in a harbor is a photogenic subject. I still am waiting to see colorful BUTTERFLIES, we have lot of the small white cabbage BUTTERFLIES! Thanks Dawn for joining the party.
ReplyDeleteI like the black and white pic of your dad. I'm sure that's your favorite. Beautiful butterfly and would enjoy going out on one of those boats. It's hot here in OK. Happy Saturday
ReplyDeleteAlways love B & W shots and this one is a great one of your Dad. That is a glorious butterfly Dawn. I appreciate your prayers. I am afraid this is going to be a slow progress to get the arm with full movement again and I will have to have patient for the long haul. Have a wonderful week ahead
