The letter H is for...
Houses, Heavy, Humming bird and Hill
(click on photo for bigger and best)
A recent picture of houses I took at sunset, in
Portsmouth, New Hampshire
heavy load of logs! Spotted this week in Eustis, Maine.
It's about 3 hours from my home, and around 20 miles
from the Canadian border. Taken just after sunrise.
I'm still seeing hummingbirds, at my bird feeders.
A 360 degree view, on top of Quill Hill - elevation 2,848
located between Stratton and Rangeley, Maine.
A 4 mile ride up the hill, took us about 15 minutes.
My photos were taken this week.

  1. ...your HOUSES capture the image that I have in my mind of what New England is all about!
...we see HEAVY loads of logs in the Adirondacks too.
    ...HUMMINGBIRDS are such treats.
...Quill HILL is a beautiful spot.
Dawn, the travel authority should HIRE you to showcase the beauty of your area! Thanks for joining the party.

  2. I saw lots of trucks loaded with logs when I lived in Raleigh, but never see them here. Love the shot of the houses with the reflection. Beautiful! Happy Saturday

  3. Dawn, your row of houses by the waterfront reminds me of Jessica Fletcher's of "Murder She Wrote" TV programs' pretty town in Maine, Cabot Cove. I'm glad you googled "Kolache", it seems there are in bakeries in Portsmouth and Nashua. We like best the ones with a polish sausage inside but the fruit filled round ones are good too. I always like your bird pictures, the Hummingbirds come through here on their annual to and from trips to Mexico. They don't stray, but visit, our backyard because we don't have their kind of flowers.
Oh yes, seems the logging truck would be ticketed in Texas, the stakes on our truck beds aren't nearly as high as this one.
