A cousins Family Reunion (7 years ago) I believe there was 56 first cousins, and most of the ones still living came to this reunion from all over the country, with their families. So much fun. Since this reunion, there are smaller reunions every year. Hoping to have another BIG one soon, in Rhodelia, Kentucky. More than 150 relatives showed up,
from all over the country.
The reunion was held in the church hall, just behind the church, only a few miles from the family farm. St. Theresa's church is on a list
of historical places.
Population today is still under 200!
At the farm, for many hayrides that day. My husbands father grew up on this farm with 11 other siblings. The farm has been family owned for over a hundred years. It is still a working farm, and looks like this today on almost 200 acres.

Red barns
Uncle Bud and some of the first cousins,
get together night before. Our Uncle died 2 years later, he was 100 years old.
A Red Ford - This one is for you, Tom! I took this in downtown Kennebunkport, Maine. It's here every year, during the Christmas holiday.

You have a big family - it is a blessing and I am sure your reunions are fun! Have a beautiful weekend.
ReplyDeleteFamily reunions are the best. Sadly, ours isn't attended as well as it was before our grandparents passed away. Hay rides and red barns, awesome!
ReplyDeleteWhat a family reunion! I was one of seven children and we'd have difficulty getting that many family together...the barns in Rhodelia are painted in that classic red, and as charming and functional as ever. The red '56 Fairlane is a classic and chrome laden beauty!
ReplyDelete...Dawn, I envy families like yours. My parents both were only children, not aunts, uncles or cousins! Thanks for the 1956 RED Ford station wagon all decked out for Christmas! Take care and please stop back again.
