The Weekend Roundup "K"
"K" is for Kittens and Kentucky

These two kittens live on the family farm in Kentucky

at first they were scared of me
then one came out from underneath the steps
by time I left they were both quite happy siblings
kittens were underneath the porch of this old family farmhouse on about 250 acres
"Kids" playing on the front porch
These five brothers, plus a brother and sister not pictured grew up in this house, a few of them still maintain it and raise cattle and crops on the farm. They all still live close to the farm.
Located in Rhodelia, Kentucky, this is where my husbands father (one of 12) grew up, there are 2 farms and his dad grew up on the other one next door (not pictured) I have many new and very old photos of it on my blog, look under "Kentucky" if you are interested. We love to visit here at least 3 times a year. Fun times with a lot of first cousins, there are 51 to be exact!  Both farms are still family owned, they raise cattle and crops on both farms.
"FAVORITE"
My Dad with all his great grandkids, these are all my grandchildren. Photo taken in AZ about four years ago, it's one of my favorites!

  3. You'll never go wrong, Dawn, with "Kittens". Even if it's not "K" time. Thanks for the farm pictures, they are nice. I was born and grew up on a farm belonging to my parents as did my sister. I've blogged about it, you could search or check out a side bar link or two.
My grandfather and two uncles lived on adjoining farms, ALL owned by Grandpa.
Oh yes, Mrs. Linky had the wrong time and my Sunday poem missed out. Her's my link,

  4. Wow, what a large family! I have a grand total of 3 cousins, and that's all I shall ever have! My parents each had one sibling but only one of those lived to adulthood. And I have no brothers or sisters, so we don't have family gatherings much! Love those cute kittens!

  5. Awww, kittens will take the show. The farmhouse looks well kept, I'm glad to see those kept up. I grew up on a farm in Eastern Nebraska but the house I was born in and lived in has been demolished. Mrs. Jim hasn't counted her first cousins, a lot but not quite 51. There were nine of us on Dad's side of the family, three have died. I have two older and three younger.
My BIL lives in Jackson, Tennessee and is a piano tuner. He took time off to attend Morehead State to finish off his Bachelor's degree a few years back. We didn't like Louisville, traffic was worse than getting through Houston, though much shorter. Nice post.
