The Weekend Roundup "F"
Flowers, Forest and Fantastic
(click on photo for bigger and best view)
Has anyone ever seen these? I hadn't, until my trip to Bernheim Forest and Arboretum last week in Kentucky. They're called
Yellow Spotted Bee Balm, aka Horsemint!
They're very pretty and plentiful around here.
FOREST
There's a new giant in the forest! 27' tall Tin Man called the "Heart of the Forest" at Bernheim Forest and Arboretum. Clermont, KY.
Bill Secunda, award winning artist
created this sculpture.
I think this is a Red-spotted purple butterfly. It's a black and dark blue butterfly, that is not a swallowtail.
I had a FANTASTIC day!

...Dawn this is a FANTASTIC post. The Bernheim Forest and Arboretum look to be a FABULOUS destination. Hundreds of butterflies sound too good tom be true, we have so few this year. Take care and be well and cool.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom! It was too good to be true, I've never seen so many of them! :)
DeleteThat butterfly is gorgeous! That sure is a huge tin man. :)
